Howard (Terry) Hall and Jan E. Brucker Receive Favorable Defense Verdict on Behalf of the University of Washington

Howard (Terry) Hall and Jan E. Brucker of Foley & Mansfield’s Seattle office received a defense verdict on behalf of client the University of Washington after a three week trial in King County, Washington Superior Court.  The plaintiff’s father, who died from asbestosis, worked as a sheet metal mechanic and was exposed to asbestos while working for an independent contractor at several buildings on the University’s Seattle campus in the 1960’s and 1970’s.  The plaintiff claimed that as the premises owner the University had breached its duty of care to the plaintiff’s father.  The jury disagreed, finding that the University had not acted in a negligent fashion.
