Eduardo Medina

Partner

Eddie Medina is a partner in Foley Mansfield’s Miami office. He focuses his practice on civil litigation, including products liability defense, toxic tort defense, wrongful death, and insurance defense, and is a member of the firm’s Appellate Practice Group. Eddie has deposed scores of plaintiffs and witnesses in product liability cases from around the country, including Florida, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, and has extensive experience representing large corporate creditors in debt collection and contract matters. Eddie is a Miami native who dedicates his time to his wife and two children. A member of the firm’s Well-Being Committee, Eddie practices mindfulness meditation and enjoys reading and writing on wellness topics.

  • Eddie has secured dismissals at the trial court and appellate levels, in state court and in federal court, on behalf of several product manufacturers who brought motions to dismiss based on lack of personal jurisdiction.
  • Eddie secured a victory for their client – a national brake lining manufacturer – after the plaintiff resolved with all other defendants in a contested Motion for Summary Judgment prevailed ahead of their scheduled two-week trial. Eddie also prevailed under Florida’s new summary judgment rule, wherein they filed an Amicus Brief in support of the change to the current rule adopting the federal summary judgment standard, which took effect on May 1, 2021.
