Bill Osantowski is Of Counsel in the Detroit office of Foley Mansfield, and member of the firm’s Executive Committee.  Bill is also a co-chair of the firm’s Product Liability group, and practices in the Product Liability, Personal Injury Defense and Toxic Tort / Mass Tort Litigation groups.

With more than twenty years experience defending manufacturers and distributors of asbestos products, his clients have ranged from small business owners to Fortune 500 corporations. Bill has also served as national and regional counsel for a number of clients.

In addition to asbestos litigation, Bill has defended a wide range of complex exposure cases, including cases on behalf of manufacturers and distributors of pharmaceutical products, welding rods and industrial chemicals. He has also defended multi-million dollar industrial equipment and playground equipment personal injury cases, and has represented premises owners in defense of asbestos, mold, lead paint and other toxic exposure personal injury claims.

Prior to joining the product liability, toxic tort, and mass tort defense bar, Bill gained a tremendous amount of courtroom experience as a criminal defense attorney representing clients in more than100 retained and appointed felony cases.

Bill has achieved the highest possible Martindale-Hubbell rating for the highest level of legal ability and adherence to professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence.

Bill is a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Association and member of its Negligence Law Section as well as a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, The Defense Research Institute, and the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel. He is an Eagle Scout and has served as a baseball and hockey coach for the City of Birmingham, MI.
