Mike Haag is Of Counsel in Foley Mansfield’s Minneapolis office. With a business background and more than 40 years of litigation experience, Mike brings his clients extensive trial expertise covering a wide range of legal and factual issues.

Mike has extensive courtroom and appellate experience. He has first chaired over 100 jury trials to verdict in state and federal courts, covering a wide range of legal claims including product liability, construction defects, and general tort liability. These included wrongful death and serious personal injury claims as well as significant property damages and economic losses.

Mike’s product liability experience includes representing manufacturers and sellers of firearms, trailers, recreational vehicles, gypsum concrete sub-flooring, agricultural and forestry equipment, mining production machinery, inflatable marine devices, electrical devices, and playground equipment.

Mike managed the firm’s nationwide emergency response group for a national pollution insurer’s high profile environmental losses. This work included coordinating cause and origin investigations, interacting with state and federal environmental and emergency response agencies, and advising on legal responsibility / subrogation potential. This work also includes evaluation and analysis of demolition, decontamination, remediation and reconstruction issues as well as CERCLA removal actions and RCRA closures.

He was appointed by the Minnesota Supreme Court to its Committee on Evaluating Rules of Evidence in 1989. Teaching activities include Continuing Legal Education (CLE) classes on trial practice and procedures as well as presentations to insurers on privilege and confidentiality issues.

He has been selected by his peers as a Leading American Attorney in the Leading American Attorney Network, and holds the highest possible Martindale Hubbell rating for the highest level of legal ability and adherence to professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence.* Mike is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association, and the Defense Research Institute (DRI).
