Ben Hegvik is a partner in Foley Mansfield’s St. Louis office and the Chair of Foley Mansfield’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. From small businesses to large global corporations, he has extensive experience representing enterprises in a variety of complex commercial disputes.

Throughout his career, whether the disputes were resolved in litigation, arbitration or mediation, Ben has represented builders, developers and design professionals in construction disputes. This work has included representing premises owners faced with lawsuits arising from injuries allegedly sustained at the premises in question. Ben enjoys engaging with the construction community in St. Louis, and has published and given presentations on numerous construction-related legal topics at events like the Missouri Construction Law Seminar.

Additionally, Ben has years of experience representing manufacturers in product liability lawsuits in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Not only has Ben assisted product manufacturers in developing strategies for defending allegations on a case-by-case basis, but he also works alongside his clients to establish proactive overarching strategies which can be applied to a portfolio of cases in diverse jurisdictions.

Outside of his work with Foley Mansfield, Ben serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Alliance Credit Union. This fulfilling professional accomplishment  provides Ben with critical insights when dealing with issues related to lending institutions.  Further, this role allows Ben to serve the members of the credit union as it engages in the business community.

Ben received his J.D. in 2008 from St. Louis University School of Law. He was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship and earned a Certificate in International and Comparative Law. He received his undergraduate degree in English and Political Science from Brigham Young University in 2002.  When not practicing law, Ben enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his family, including skiing and hiking.
