Ashleigh Johnson is a partner in Foley Mansfield’s St. Louis office. She practices in toxic and mass tort defense, in addition to employment law and litigation.
In her work in mass tort defense, Ashleigh represents manufacturers, contractors, distributors, and premises in both state and federal court. She regularly and successfully defends experts and corporate representatives as part of national litigation and handles mass volume discovery and motion practice.
As an employment law attorney, Ashleigh has successfully addressed charges for discrimination and other alleged employer/employee violations at both the administrative and civil court levels. She regularly counsels businesses of all sizes, including public entities, regarding law and policy changes which may affect their business and employee relations, including addressing possible conflicts around hirings and terminations as they arise through presentations and real-time counseling. She has also worked on cases involving failure of employer fiduciaries to fulfill requirements under ERISA.
Within the firm, Ashleigh is the founder and chair of the firm’s Well-Being Committee. She has also served on the firm’s mentoring and internal education committees. She served on the Missouri Bar’s Lawyer’s Living Well Committee as well as the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis’s Well-being Committee. She has previously written and spoken on topics relating to mental health and the law, mentorship in practice, ethics, employee contracts, and civil procedure.
Ashleigh has previously acted as pro bono counsel for various community groups and has represented prisoners in litigation in the Southern District of Illinois. Ashleigh is currently serving a term on the Maplewood Public Library Board. She has previously volunteered her time with the American Lung Association and the League of Women Voters.

Representative Matters
- As recently as 2023, Ashleigh has successfully briefed and argued motions to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction in the City of St. Louis
- Ashleigh has successfully prevailed in discovery disputes in both Missouri and Illinois, including successfully blocking unnecessary or duplicative discovery requests
