Madelyn Iulo


Madelyn Iulo defends various corporations, from equipment manufacturers to global cosmetic companies, in all aspects of toxic tort and products liability matters.  She serves on a team as National Coordinating Counsel for a major cosmetics company.  Ms. Iulo draws upon her 20 years of experience as a litigator to provide her clients with the most effective strategies in defense of their cases.  Ms. Iulo has represented clients before federal and state trial and appellate courts including the District Court of New Jersey and the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.

Corporations look to Ms. Iulo for her expertise in defense of claims brought against their companies for exposure to asbestos and other toxic substances.  Ms. Iulo has successfully litigated toxic tort, products liability, and general liability cases in all phases of litigation.  She has been involved in all aspects of the asbestos litigation including performing lead examination at depositions, preparing experts, negotiating settlements, preparing cases for trial, and successfully arguing motions for summary judgment. In addition to her litigation skills, Ms. Iulo has effectively managed and administrated a high volume of asbestos cases in efforts to best serve her clients.

Before joining Foley Mansfield, Ms. Iulo worked as a litigation attorney representing numerous global equipment manufacturers, distributors, and contractors from various industries in the asbestos litigation.  Prior to working in private practice, Ms. Iulo served as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, New York in various trial divisions as well as the Crimes Against Children Unit. As both a trial attorney and supervisor, Ms. Iulo participated in the prosecution of hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases. 

Successfully briefed and argued Llanfair House Nursing Home v. Estate of Ethel Litchult, 198 N.J. 473, 968 A.2d 1189 (2008) wherein the Appellate Division affirmed the lower court’s decision denying defendant’s motion to set aside a default judgment in favor of Ms. Iulo’s client.

Obtained summary judgment dismissing plaintiffs’ claims against industrial equipment and product manufacturers contending that the companies were responsible for plaintiffs’ asbestos related injuries.
