John Beseau

John G. Beseau, a partner in the St. Louis office of Foley Mansfield, focuses his practice on construction and commercial litigation, including real estate disputes, in State and Federal Courts.

In the construction arena, John represents general contractors, subcontractors, and project owners in matters concerning breach of contract, construction defects, payment disputes, and mechanic’s liens. In addition to defending construction matters in Missouri and Illinois, John serves as chief counsel for a general contractor, handling disputes nationwide, both in court and arbitration.

John’s commercial practice includes representation of businesses in contractual disputes, loan transactions, UCC claims, and unfair business practices. He also counsels business owners in shareholder disputes and fiduciary litigation and defends employers in claims of discrimination, wrongful discharge, and retaliation.

John has tried multiple matters to verdict as first-chair in jury and bench trials, including claims seeking declaratory and equitable relief and temporary and permanent injunctions. He successfully briefed and argued several matters before the Missouri Court of Appeals and has won a case before the Missouri Supreme Court.
