Justin A. Borawski is an attorney in Foley & Mansfield’s Chicago office, where he represents corporate defendants in product liability, premises liability, toxic tort and environmental litigation with an emphasis on asbestos defense.
Over the course of his career, Justin has deposed, counseled, presented, and defended thousands of corporate, medical, and expert witnesses. Justin has researched, authored, orally argued, and won dispositive motions for summary judgment on behalf of his clients, persuading the Court to find no question of material fact as to potential product exposure to plaintiffs. He has also earned more than 35 defense jury verdicts.
Due to his extensive litigation and trial experience, Justin is the primary managing attorney from case inception to resolution over some of the firm’s most contentious cases in historically defense-adverse jurisdictions in Illinois. Locally, he represents clients in in Cook, Will, Madison, McHenry, McLean, Morgan, and Rock Island Counties in Illinois and in state and federal courts in Indiana, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
Justin began his legal career as a trial attorney for defendants in a high-volume personal injury and premises liability defense practice, taking thousands of cases from investigation to successful trial verdict or settlement. He then represented injured plaintiffs in common carrier liability, premises liability, and pharmacy negligence cases, giving him the perspective to see the practical realities on both sides of litigation.
Returning to the defense bar, Justin represented defendant physicians and nurses in dental malpractice, medical malpractice, and nursing home negligence litigation, while also representing insurance companies in commercial policy coverage disputes.
