Dennis Young is a partner in Foley & Mansfield's Walnut Creek office. As an experienced trial attorney with more than 25 years of litigation experience, Dennis focuses his practice in the area of products and premises liability. Additionally, he has experience handling commercial litigation, construction defect disputes, and government contract compliance matters.

He has defended general contractors, sub-contractors, product manufacturers and premises owners in a variety of disputes as part of his far reaching practice.

Dennis has served as first chair trial counsel in over 40 jury trials to verdict, with a very successful track record. Eight of his last ten jury trials resulted in defense verdicts. Plaintiffs’ awards in the two other verdicts were less than the defendants' best offers prior to trial.

Beyond the courtroom, Dennis has been involved as lead counsel in numerous arbitrations and mediations. Additionally, he has provided clients with legal strategies geared toward avoiding litigation while leading to favorable outcomes. He has also tried cases as plaintiff’s counsel, giving him valuable insight and knowledge in evaluating a case from the plaintiff’s perspective and allowing him to guide his defense clients through innovative and cost efficient resolutions.

For eighteen consecutive years, Dennis has achieved the highest possible Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review rating (“A.V.”) for his legal ability and ethical standards.

Before joining Foley & Mansfield, Dennis worked in private practice in Los Angeles and the Oakland/East Bay Area. He has also been a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Los Angeles and a Senior Trial Attorney for Allstate.
