Carolyn P. Long, Of Counsel in Foley & Mansfield’s Portland office, practices environmental and complex commercial litigation. Carolyn’s environmental experience covers both technical issues and the identification of responsible parties.  Her commercial experience covers oil and gas litigation, contracts, business torts, antitrust, patent infringement, commercial insurance coverage disputes and royalty class actions.

She has participated in numerous jury trials and arbitrations, and has extensive experience in all aspects of discovery, pre-trial motion practice, and trial and appellate briefing.

Carolyn brings a strong scientific and technical background to her cases. She received a MSc in geophysics from Cornell University and a PhD from the University of Cambridge and worked as a research scientist in the field of reflection seismology before entering law school.
