Waverly Shannon an attorney with the firm’s California offices.  She focuses her practice on mass tort defense, silica litigation, asbestos litigation, and general liability matters, with significant experience handling cases across California. She manages cases through all stages of litigation, from initial pleadings and discovery through depositions and motion practice. In addition to local counsel work, Waverly has served on a national coordinating counsel team for a mass tort client, reviewing documents and deposition testimony to inform corporate representative depositions and prepare in-depth analytical reports for clients and carriers.

Before joining Foley Mansfield, Waverly handled a mixed docket of mass tort and general liability matters. Her mass tort work was concentrated in California, while her general liability practice extended to cases in both California and Texas. In that role, she communicated regularly with carriers, clients, and opposing counsel, prepared case materials across the litigation lifecycle, and contributed to the firm’s national coordinating counsel efforts on behalf of a major tort client.

Earlier in her career, Waverly summered at Cokinos Young in Austin, where she worked on general liability and construction litigation matters, drafting motions and a settlement agreement and assisting with cases at various stages. She also interned with the Denver District Attorney’s Office and the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Arapahoe County, Colorado, where she gained early exposure to courtroom proceedings and trial preparation in criminal matters.
