Tessa Mansfield Hirte is a Partner in the Minneapolis office. She defends employers in all aspects of labor and employment-related litigation. She draws upon her practical experience and creative legal thinking to craft effective litigation strategies. Tessa has represented clients before federal and state trial and appellate courts, arbitration tribunals, and administrative agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Minnesota Department of Human Rights.

Tessa Mansfield Hirte helps employers fight a range of labor and employment-related claims, including gender, age, and disability discrimination claims to arise under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the National Labor Relations Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA).

Tessa also assists companies of all sizes, from startups to Fortune 500 companies, with business-related disputes, including closely-held shareholder disputes, contract claims, and business torts.

Tessa defends real estate brokers, agents, financial institutions, and property owners, in a range of issues related to real estate, including breach of contract claims, landlord-tenant disputes, negligence claims, and other aspects of real estate litigation.

Before joining Foley Mansfield, Tessa served as a law clerk for Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid and worked as a law clerk and paralegal at a Minneapolis-based immigration law firm.
