Maria S. Read is an attorney in the New York office of Foley Mansfield, where she focuses her practice on general liability, toxic tort, and products liability defense. Maria brings a rigorous litigation background and demonstrated courtroom experience to her defense practice, having honed her advocacy skills as a prosecutor in one of the country’s busiest criminal court systems.
Prior to joining Foley Mansfield, Maria served as an Assistant District Attorney at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York, where she managed a broad criminal caseload from investigation through trial.
Maria received her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 2023, where she served as Business Manager of the Brooklyn Journal of Corporate, Financial and Commercial Law as well as earned the school’s Pro Bono Award. Among Maria’s many skills, she is also fluent in the Spanish language.
