Foley & Mansfield Elects Torseth, Nore to Executive Management Team

Foley & Mansfield today announced that two professionals with the firm have been elected to C-Suite positions, effective immediately.  Peter M. Torseth has been elected to the position of CEO, with Mona D. Nore named COO of the 150-attorney firm.

As the first CEO and non-lawyer to lead the firm, Torseth is responsible for overall business strategy and operations, overseeing finance, IT, marketing, human resources, recruiting and development functions, and related personnel. Torseth, who has acted as the firm’s director of finance since 2008, serves on the firm’s Executive Committee, working alongside committee members and managing partners to refine and execute the firm’s strategy. A CPA (inactive),  he holds an MBA with an emphasis in Finance from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn., and has more than 25 years experience in finance and accounting.

As COO,  Mona Nore will oversee the administrative aspects of the firm’s 10 offices, including management of the firm’s office administrators and legal support staff. She is charged with furthering customer-focused total quality management initiatives, and oversight of work processes and procedures to ensure adherence to best practices. Nore joined Foley & Mansfield in 1992 as its first office administrator in its sole Minneapolis location, subsequently helping to open the firm’s additional offices across the country. She was named to the position of executive director in January  2008. A former Series 7 and 63 securities license holder, Nore has more than 30 years experience in accounting and office administration within the securities, manufacturing, public accounting and legal industries.  She is currently based in the firm’s Oakland, California office.

“Peter and Mona are both experienced professionals, well-versed in our firm culture, with a full understanding of the challenges facing both the professional and business aspects of the legal industry,” says Kyle Mansfield, founding partner. “This is a vote of extreme confidence in their skills and ability to help the firm continue to grow and prosper. Under their combined leadership, our attorneys can focus on providing exceptional services knowing that the business itself is in capable hands.”
