It is with great appreciation and respect that Foley Mansfield announces the retirement of our good friend and valued partner, Kevin O’Connor, effective October 28, 2022.

“Kevin is one of the most collegial, ethical, and professional partners at our firm, and he will  be missed” said Kyle Mansfield, managing partner of Foley Mansfield. “He has been an invaluable partner and resource for lawyers and staff in our Miami office and across the firm given his years of experience, industry knowledge, and successful advocacy for our firm’s clients. Because of his outstanding legal service to our clients and mentorship to the attorneys in our Miami office, we are confident that our team in Miami will continue on in a seamless fashion with Timothy Ferguson leading the office and Kelly Casey stepping in as chair of the firm’s medical malpractice group.”

Kevin spent over 46 years litigating professional liability claims, in which he represented healthcare providers. He has served as managing partner of the Miami office and as Chair of the Medical Malpractice Division.

Timothy Ferguson will assume the role as managing partner of Foley Mansfield’s Miami office. Tim heads the toxic tort and products liability team in Miami and has more than 20 years of successful litigation experience defending toxic exposure claims and construction defect matters. He also serves as treasurer of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of South Florida.

Kelly Casey will lead the firm’s Medical Malpractice Division in Miami. She has focused her legal practice in professional liability and medical malpractice, handling all claims on behalf of healthcare providers including hospitals, physicians, midlevels and nurses.

“We are confident in the team that will lead the Miami office,” Mansfield continued. “Backed by both Kelly and Timothy’s capabilities, experience, and their ambition to continue growing our practice in Miami, we look forward to a very positive future for the office and the medical malpractice team.”
