Foley Mansfield Achieves Mansfield Certification “Plus” Status from Diversity Lab

Foley Mansfield is proud to announce that the firm has again achieved Mansfield Certification, receiving the additional “Plus” status for the first time. The Mansfield Certification, facilitated by Diversity Lab, recognizes the structural changes and actions we have taken over 18 months to diversify candidate pools, pitch teams and pipelines to leadership in our firm by broadening the slate of talent considered for internal opportunities and roles.  We also increased transparency with written and accessible advancement processes and role descriptions. Our Certification “Plus” status indicates that, in addition to successfully meeting the consideration and transparency requirements, our firm has achieved 30% representation of historically underrepresented lawyers in current leadership roles and pathway activities.

The goal of Mansfield is to increase and retain diversity in our firm’s leadership and pipelines to leadership through a science-driven method that embeds accountability, transparency, and knowledge sharing into our talent practices. We know that with diverse leadership comes more inclusive and equitable decisions that reflect the needs of our diverse workforce for the benefit of our talent and clients. As illustrated in this recent American Lawyer article, an extensive analysis by two data science professors shows Mansfield is succeeding at its intended purpose to diversify leadership at firms that stay committed long-term – and we are proud to count ourselves amongst them.

“Increasing and retaining diverse talent at Foley Mansfield is key to our success and the Mansfield Certification program has been an essential part of our diversity strategy thus far,” said Kyle Mansfield, managing partner of Foley Mansfield.  “A diverse and inclusive workplace brings different perspectives, yielding more creativity and better results on behalf of our clients and our Firm.”
