Margaret Johnson Appointed Chairperson of LACBA’s Armed Forces Committee

Foley & Mansfield is pleased to announce that Margaret Johnson, a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office, has been appointed Chairperson of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Armed Forces Committee.  The LACBA is one of the largest metropolitan bar associations in the country with approximately 21,000 members.  Its Armed Forces Committee works to provide legal assistance to members of the Armed Forces, with a particular emphasis on pro bono services to Veterans.  With the assistance of dedicated volunteers and law firm sponsors, the AFCOM current programs include, but are not limited to, the following:  the Veteran’s Legal Services Project pro bono clinic (records, warrants, license reinstatement, and expungement), LEAP (entrepreneurial assistance program), military discharge upgrades, and family law clinics.  Margaret’s term began on July 1, 2020.

Louis Klein (a former member of the AFCOM and now the managing partner of the firm’s Indianapolis office) initiated the firm’s participation in the Veteran’s Legal Services Clinic in 2014.  Over the years, volunteers from our Los Angeles office have provided pro bono services to over 150 veterans.  In 2019, FM’s Los Angeles office was honored to receive the LACBA’s Patriotic Hall Legal Clinic Award.
