Foley Mansfield is thrilled to announce that Ebony S. Morris, Attorney in the firm’s New Orleans office, has been nominated for the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel’s (LADC) Frank L. Maraist Award. The Award, established by the LADC’s Young Lawyers Committee in 2015, is named for Professor Maraist, the first executive director of the LADC, who is largely responsible for the organization as it stands today. The Award recognizes a young lawyer who demonstrates professional excellence, service to the legal profession and the bar, commitment to pro bono work and community service, and contributions to furthering the ideals of the legal profession. Nominees will be recognized at the Young Lawyers Awards and LADC Board Dinner on December 7 in New Orleans.

Ebony Morris handles matters involving mass tort defense, workers compensation, and insurance defense on behalf of Fortune 100 & 500 corporations, insurance companies, and small businesses. She is an active member of the Defense Research Institute, serving as 2023-2024 Chair of DRI’s Women of Color Subcommittee and Vice Chair of DRI’s 2024 Diversity for Success Seminar. Ebony has received a myriad of awards and recognition for her commitment to the legal community, including the 2023 On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyer Award from the ABA.
