About the Position
We are seeking a service-oriented Human Resources / Payroll Specialist to join our Minneapolis-based team. If you are looking to develop your HR skills, be part of a team, and grow your career within a well-established law firm, apply today!
The essential functions of this position include:
- Processing bi-weekly payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees using the ADP Workforce Now platform.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies as well as federal and state payroll laws and regulations.
- Establish new state and local taxes as needed.
- Working with managers to ensure employee work hours are submitted accurately.
- Running reports and providing supporting documentation as requested by firm leadership, HR team members, and for external audits.
- Reconciling and paying benefit invoices.
- Assisting with new hire onboarding, including sending out pre-boarding communications, entering new hires into payroll system, and enrolling new hires in benefits.
- Assisting with administrative tasks associated with employee terminations.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, strong work ethic, and an ability to deal sensitively with confidential information. Some prior work experience in HR and payroll preferred but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills is required. An educational degree or certificate in HR or a related field is a plus. This position is hybrid: 1 day in office, 4 days remote.
