Tessa Mansfield is an attorney in Foley & Mansfield’s Minneapolis office. She practices in the areas of commercial litigation, employment, immigration, international business, and securities.
Prior to joining the firm, Tessa volunteered for Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid in the Immigration Law Project primarily serving immigrant women who were victims of crime and/or domestic violence. She assisted clients in obtaining visas based on their cooperation in the prosecution of crime or under the provisions of the Violence Against Women Act. She also assisted immigrant children in obtaining Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. Tessa maintains a close connection with Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid, including volunteering at occasional clinics and arranging referrals to pro bono attorneys outside of legal aid.
During law school, Tessa was a student attorney with the Edina City prosecutor, assisting in misdemeanor cases. Her role included appearing in front of the judge for initial arraignment, discussing options and possible plea deals with pro se defendants, presenting plea deals to the judge, preparing memoranda of law for various motions, and engaging in other research. She also was a staff member on the William Mitchell Law Review.
