Tom has extensive litigation and trial experience across the country. This experience, coupled with his years of business and accounting, provides clients many advantages in today’s high-stakes litigation. Tom focuses his practice in the areas of commercial law and litigation, employment law, product liability, and toxic tort and mass tort litigation.

Tom chairs the firm’s Commercial Practice and Litigation group where he represents small and large businesses and their owners/shareholders in contract and lending disputes, commercial lease and franchise litigation, shareholder and fiduciary duty claims, and fraud and misrepresentation actions. Tom also advises companies on a broad array of proactive measures to control and minimize business risks and unnecessary litigation.

His employment-law experience encompasses a myriad of cases, including wage and ERISA disputes, wrongful termination and discrimination claims. He also handles a variety of closely-held shareholder litigation; he recently won a trial of a disgruntled minority shareholder lawsuit. He also has trial experience with cases involving misappropriation of trade secrets, violations of non-competes and confidentiality provisions.

Tom regularly represents manufacturers, suppliers and distributors in asbestos-related litigation. Tom has also handled and defended a variety of product design-defect and class-action claims.

He holds the highest possible Martindale-Hubbell rating for the highest level of legal ability and adherence to professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence.

Tom has supervised and coordinated the firm’s training for young attorneys.
