Licensed in Minnesota and California, Cindy defends companies in asbestos and silica litigation in both states. She is part of a team overseeing the nationwide litigation of a large manufacturing company as its national coordinating counsel. She works with local counsel in various jurisdictions from Massachusetts to California, overseeing all aspects of the litigation including discovery, motion practice, developing and preparing experts, preparing for trial and developing strategies for resolving cases.
Cindy’s varied practice includes defending business owners such as nightclubs and landlords in premises liability cases, defending employers and other business owners in discrimination cases, and defending restaurants and bars in dram shop cases. Cindy is also an appellate attorney, and has worked on appeals that have developed the law in Minnesota in areas of the sophisticated purchaser defense to product liability claims, the duty owed by helpers in day care facilities, and day care licensing immunity.
A former rock musician who recorded four albums, toured the U.S. and Canada, and supported herself as a paralegal before attending law school, Cindy joined Foley & Mansfield in 1994. Her years of experience working in law firms of all sizes, in positions ranging from support staff to partner, give Cindy a unique perspective on practicing law in an efficient manner that maximizes results for her clients.
