Scott divides his practice into both litigation and transactional services, focusing primarily on commercial litigation, construction law, employment law, products liability, general liability and civil litigation, and toxic tort and mass tort litigation. He represents various businesses in both the litigation and pre-litigation stages of a dispute. Scott also represents a variety of general contractors and subcontractors in construction matters.
Prior to joining Foley & Mansfield, Scott served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Thomas L. Ludington of the 42nd Circuit Court in Midland, Michigan (now Federal District Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan).
While attending law school, Scott received multiple Dean’s List honors and was selected to the Order of the Barristers for excellence in trial advocacy. In addition to these achievements, he was a member of the Federal Communications Law Journal and the Trial Competition Team. He served as an intern for the Honorable George Caram Steeh of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

- Obtained favorable settlement in breach of contract lawsuit filed on behalf of nationally-recognized software hosting and security company
- Successfully defended excavating contractor against $1.3 million dollar negligence and environmental claim
- Obtained complete dismissal of construction-related action from federal court on ripeness grounds
- Negotiated favorable settlement in commercial lending breach of contract case for national biodiesel fuel company
- Successfully defended general contractor home-builder in $500,000 breach of contract claim
- Successfully defended plumbing contractor against property damage and personal injury claim related to construction of multi-unit condominium complex
- Drafted appellate briefs on issues involving fraud, fraudulent concealment and award of attorney fees (pending)
