Tom is an attorney in the Oakland office and has practiced law in California for more than 18 years representing corporate and individual clients in both state and federal court. As a trial attorney, Tom has significant experience with the defense of product liability toxic tort cases, including the representation of manufacturers, suppliers, contractors and premises owners in asbestos litigation. Additionally, Tom regularly handles commercial and personal injury matters. He has supervised litigation for clients throughout the country and currently serves as outside general counsel for a national manufacturing company. Tom has tried cases in courts throughout California and was recently admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.

Tom regularly counsels clients in a wide spectrum of industries concerning employment and labor issues. He works with his clients' legal and human resources departments to tailor a specific business-focused approach to meet each client's immediate and long term objectives. Tom also defends his clients in employment litigation in multiple jurisdictions.

Tom serves as lead trial counsel in construction litigation in cases involving both single family homes and multi-unit construction projects. Tom has also presented at construction seminars and routinely counsels his clients concerning issues related to the defense of construction litigation. Tom has lectured on a variety of topics related to his trial work and presented at different seminars throughout the country. Tom currently serves on the Alumni Board of the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and has previously been a member of the Alumni Board of Northwestern University.
