She earned her Juris Doctorate from San Joaquin College of Law in 2001. While in law school, she served as the Notes and Comments Editor of the Law Review Board. She published two volumes of the Law Review Journal during her tenure on the board and is a published author herself. During law school, she was awarded the Alumni Association Scholarship and the Delta Theta Phi Scholarship for scholastic achievement and ability. Suzanne was also a board member of The American Heart Association throughout her law school career.
She is an active member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to the Eastern and Central District Courts of California.
