Melanie defends manufacturers, distributors and contractors who have been sued by plaintiffs seeking millions of dollars in damages related to asbestos, wrongful death and personal injury. Overall, Melanie’s legal focus is in the areas of toxic tort and mass tort litigation, product liability, general liability and civil litigation.

Melanie represents clients in both federal and state court litigation and has extensive experience in every stage of litigation—from client counseling and management, discovery, witness preparation, high-risk depositions, motion practice, and trial support—allows her to adeptly handle complex, multi-faceted cases.

In preparing for trial, Melanie has successfully sought out fact witnesses to dispute claims brought by plaintiffs against her clients, thereby significantly lowering the value of the cases she defends. She has also drafted and argued numerous motions, both pre-trial and at trial, that have resulted in dismissals for her clients.

Melanie serves as the primary litigator and client contact in the Los Angeles office for national counsel of a boiler manufacturer/contractor.
