Minneapolis Foley & Mansfield
Attorneys Win Closely-Held Corporation/Shareholder Trial
In September 2009,
Thomas Pahl and
Christopher Grecian
secured a victory in a jury trial for their client, Bjorklund Trucking, Inc.,
against a former shareholder. The hotly-contested dispute venued in Wright
County, Minnesota, arose over an oral agreement by the shareholder to transfer
title of certain trucking terminals to the client during a 1993 meeting of the
client’s shareholders. While the defendant/shareholder denied the existence of
the oral agreement, the jury decided after only three hours of deliberations
that the oral agreement did take place and found in favor of Bjorklund Trucking,
Inc. Following the verdict, Bjorklund Trucking, Inc.’s President, Mr. Sunil
Sapatnekar, expressed his sincere thanks to Mr. Pahl, Mr. Grecian and their
Foley & Mansfield team, observing that Mr. Pahl’s concise closing statement and
powerful summation of the sequence of critical events and supporting
documentation clinched the jury for Bjorklund Trucking, Inc.
